Lux Radio Theater
Judy appears as Eva Lovlies in this radio adaption of the 1933 film of the same name. Judy’s role was originally played by her friend, Katharine Hepburn in the film. This was one of Judy’s numerous appearances on the Lux Radio Theater Show, though one of her few appearances playing a role she did not originate herself. It was originally broadcast on October 12th, 1942 on CBS and a War Department Edition was sent overseas to be played for servicemen.
Gulf Screen Guild Theatre
Two years after the film appeared in theaters, Judy and Mickey joined together to reprise their original backyard musical success on CBS radio. Though this version of the story is quite abridged with a running time of only half an hour, it is still interesting to see Judy and Mickey play their parts again two years later. It was originally broadcast on November 9th, 1941.
